A joyous reader fave I revamped from 4 years ago!...
I've updated this recipe here: Please visit this new post for the recipe or click the photo below.
There's nothing sexy about "hypoallergenic-nog" now is there? Precisely the thinking behind naming my non-egg-non-dairy-non-refined-sugar-nog "SEXY NOG". Sure I could have called it Vegan-Nog but then I may inadvertently persuade all the non-vegans into thinking there is no reason they even need to read this post because how could it possibly be as good as the real thing. Ooooh but it is as good as the real thing minus the belly ache and gassy tummy - talk about zapping the sexy right out of the holidays, sheesh!

You have single-handedly just made my day. That sugar+colouring+"milk" junk in the carton wasn't gonna fly but it was always a childhood fave - thanks for the healthy alternative!
ReplyOh me oh my! This healthier version of egg nog sounds delicious :)
ReplyTry it out Liz - this is a good one for you and let me know what you think!
Hi Joy , I can't wait to try this recipe! I emailed you a few days ago about signing up for some sessions with you and to ask a more general question. Just flagging for you since sometimes my emails end up in recipients' junk folders. Anyway, thanks for such a wonderful blog - its one of my favorites!
ReplyHi Ashley! Wonderful, I just emailed you. Thanks :)
[...] I’ve got some homemade vegan egg nog in the fridge. It’s REALLY good. Here is the recipe. [...]
ReplyI just made this. It was delicious!! Should have made more cause my one year old ended up having most of mine!!
ReplyHi Joy! I made this on Christmas Day and my mom, John and I loved it! Thanks for a great recipe. Jen
ReplyThis look AMAZING!!! Just posted it on Facebook to share the love. Great recipe and great site! Love from Sarah B at My New Roots :)
ReplyHi! Thanx for the recipe! I will definitely try, have all the ingredients ready! But just to make sure, is it almond or almond milk?
ReplyJoy! Loving the idea of the sexy nog! I cant wait to try this!! Thank you for informing everyone about the inflammation properties associated with milk! ESPECIALLY in the face!! So TRUE!
Reply[...] And in case you missed it yesterday on my twitter feed or facebook page, here is a sexy-nog recipe for those who cannot drink regular egg-nog: http://www.joyoushealth.ca/2010/12/22/sexy-nog-recipe/ [...]
ReplyHeavenly... MMMMmmmmmmmmm!
ReplyJust bought the ingredients today-cannot wait to try it this weekend! :)
ReplyJust made this eggnog and it's so delicious!! I'm going to make it for my family over the holidays for sure :) I was so hesitant looking at the ready-made eggnog, even in Whole Foods. One was made with soy milk and the other was organic milk...yours is a much better option! thanks Joy and an early Merry Christmas!
Reply[...] you? Then ditch the dairy for today and try one of these: Jen’s Super Holiday Nog Joyous Health Sexy Nog /* Share [...]
ReplyJust wondering, how long does this last stored in the firdge?
ReplyA couple of days max. It's really the kind of thing you want to eat/drink right away.
Your recipe sounds delicious - we're not big nog drinkers but I'm definitely going to give it a try! I recently tasted a homemade vegan nog (with cashew milk) and it left a lot to be desired... so I'm very hopeful for your recipe!
ReplyI actually love cashew milk but it definitely needs some cinnamon, other spices and maple syrup to make it tastier! Hope you enjoy it!
Oh my! Amazing recipe! Thanks for sharing this one. Vegan is love.
ReplyHey Ashley! So glad to hear you loved this one :) Rachel - Joyous Health Team
I can't seem to find the actual recipe for it! :-)
ReplyThat's SUPER weird. Looks like this post has gone wonky. I will fix it. Sorry about the inconvenience.
I think I figured it out. I had revamped this recipe but for some reason the old recipe is gone!
The good news is the new recipe and post can be found here: https://www.joyoushealth.com/23589-blog-vegan-egg-free-nog-video
Thanks so very much Joy. :-) It looks deeelishus. Now I just have to "get around to" trying it. I think I get almost as much enjoyment from reading recipes and seeing your super photos as I do trying them! ;-)
ReplyHey Kathryn, That's too sweet of you! We're so happy to hear you've been enjoying the recipes, along with the photos! Kudos to Walker for that one ;) Rachel - Joyous Health Team
