It's official - 2015 was a very delicious year!
Lots of scrumptious goods made their way out of the joyous kitchen and into my belly (and yours, I hope ;) ). Based on the top 5, we have quite a sweet tooth but the great news is these recipes are made with nourishing, whole, blood-sugar balancing ingredients which means you get to enjoy these guilt free, unlike so many other over-processed, sugar-full products.

1. BUCKWHEAT BANANA BREAD
Walker (my hubs) and I were reminiscing about our weekend bike rides in the summer because it’s been really bone-chilling cold here in TO. Instead of a bike ride, I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the elliptical — doing my best! It was certainly not as lovely as a bike ride on the waterfront but movement is essential for joyous health on a daily basis. Read more

I don’t know a single person on the planet who would turn down the quintessential comfort food — mac and cheese. Well hang on, I’ve turned down a “typical” mac and cheese dish made with white flour pasta and cow’s milk cheese because the belly bloat and inflammation is not worth it for me! When I was a kid, chocolate milkshakes in the scorching heat of the summer were absolute perfection. Mind you, back then I was buying a milkshake from the corner store with my allowance and I’m sure the ingredients consisted of sugar, modified milk ingredients and chemicals. 4. SWEET POTATO PROTEIN MUFFINS
If you loved my Pumpkin Chocolate Muffins then you’re gonna love these gems! I used a little less maple syrup because sweet potato, hence the name is sweeter than pumpkin. Plus the addition of the protein powder added a lovely hit of vanilla. Read more
CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP TAHINI COOKIES
Have you tried tahini before? If not, you’ve likely had sesame seeds. Well it’s the same thing — essentially paste made from ground, hulled sesame seeds. In fact, you can make it yourself by tossing a cup or two of sesame seeds into a super high power food processor and after a minute or so, tahini! Read more
