Welcome to thoughtful, organic beauty
Hello Joyous is an organic, plant-based, sustainable beauty brand here to bring more joy to your day.
As you may have heard, we're doing a 21-day Go Green challenge - you can sign up here for free and join us!
I wanted to create a special smoothie for the challenge, so I came up with this delicious recipe and shot a quick video on how to make it.
And yes, I know it's called the "Green" challenge and this is a purple smoothie thanks to those blueberries, but don't let the colour fool you! It has some serious green superfood-action going on and packs a heavy nutrition punch as you will find out below.
I mentioned that this smoothie packs a nutrition punch, and these are just a few of the reasons why:
1. Pineapple
An excellent source of vitamin C, the body's main antioxidant vitamin
Pineapple contains a protein-digesting enzyme called bromelain which is anti-inflammatory too.
2. Blueberries
Have one of the highest concentration of antioxidants of any food.
One of the only fruits native to North America, keeping things local is better for the environment and the economy
3. Chia Seeds
Good plant-based source of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fats.
High in fiber, which helps promote digestive and cardiovascular health.
And so much more!
4. Avocado
Contains heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids
The fiber and fats in avocado help keep your blood sugar balanced
Makes for a very creamy smoothie, a great sub for yogurt if you have a dairy allergy or intolerance
5. Greens+
The superstar of this smoothie is definitely Greens+, an award-winning, research-proven greens superfood! I used Greens+ (kids)... best for mamas-to-be and breastfeeding mamas
Just one serving daily provides a synergistic blend of over 23 plant-based essential nutrients
Highly alkaline-forming and rich in antioxidants, greens+ nourishes and protects your body, increases energy, promotes healthier bones – and so much more.

I’ve heard that greens kids is now discontinued and greens isn’t recommended for mamas to be. Any substitute recommendations for someone looking to be a mama soon?
ReplyHey Kelly! Yes, they discontinued the Greens so instead we would recommend Genuine Health's fermented organic gut superfoods : http://www.genuinehealth.com/store/fermented-organic-gut-superfoods Rachel - Joyous Health Team
Hey Joy! I was wondering what type of greens plus to buy that would be good for a female teen? And I assume when taking the greens plus it’s almost like a muti? So do you have to take it everyday? Thanks!
