Welcome to thoughtful, organic beauty
Hello Joyous is an organic, plant-based, sustainable beauty brand here to bring more joy to your day.
I love making fresh juice in the morning to kick-start my day!
I call it my Alkaline Green Juice because it contains wonderful minerals such as potassium, magnesium, manganese, and calcium. These minerals are important for the formation of bones, to keep your heart beating healthfully and an essential part of your nervous system and neurotransmitter function. This is why eating whole foods is necessary for joyous health because minerals are the foundation of a healthy body.
This juice recipe is super refreshing and very tasty, not bitter at all. If you're familiar with green juicing, then you've likely made juices that are quite bitter. While bitter notes are very stimulating and cleansing for the digestive system and liver, they are not always very tasty, especially if your palette is new to juicing.
But don't worry, because this juice is so excellent to get your digestive juices flowing due to enzymes it contains and of course, lemon being a fantastic hydrochloric acid stimulant.
This juice is perfect for hydrating the body too because cucumber, apple and celery are water dense foods.
I love it so much I made a recipe video to share with you!
Here is the recipe:

Hi Joy, Your Alkaline juice looks delicious! I have been debating if I should get a juicer and wondered if there was a juicer you really liked. They seem quite expensive, do you have favourite? Thanks:)
ReplyHi Monica, Joy has a Hurom slow juicer, which is on the pricey side. Breville makes some great juicers at a lower price point (Joy's juicer before the Hurom was a Breville). Kate - Joyous Health Team
sounds delicious! I do not have a juicer but think it would be a great addition to my kitchen. What do you do with the pulp that you get from your juice? can you do anything with it? or is there a way I can make this without a juicer? thanks Joy!
Replyyou can eat them all day long, this allows you to consume the pulp as well ..if you were to juice, mix the pulp with yogurt and eat it later...:))))
Hi Judy, In order to make juice, you will need some sort of juicer. You can use leftover pulp to make a mineral-rich vegetable broth, add it to a smoothie, make cookies or raw crackers if you have a food dehydrator or compost it. Kate - Joyous Health Team
What do you suggest doing with all the pulp??

Hi Joy, Just wondering if it is ok to peel the cucumber if we are unable to source organic, or does that mean losing a lot of the nutrients? Where I live my options are somewhat limited, but getting better! Can't wait to try this juice!! Thanks :)
ReplyHi Heather, It's fine to peel the cucumber if you're concerned about pesticide residues. Kate - Joyous Health Team
This sounds delicious! I do not have a juicer but I do have a Blendtec blender and was wondering if I put it on Juicing if I can still get the same effect??? It would then be more like a smoothie with all the pulp then juice I would think. Is this still ok?
ReplyHi Linda, If you put the ingredients in a blender, you will indeed end up with more of a smoothie-like consistency, but you'll still get all the nutritional benefits, plus the added bonus of the fiber. Kate - Joyous Health Team
I like your juice recipe. Would you tell me in which time i can drink it to keep good my health? I will subscribe your youtube channel , hopefully you share more delicious juice recipe. Thank you
ReplyHi Susan, We like green juice in the morning, but you can drink it whenever you want! Kate - Joyous Health Team
I think its good if you add a pinch of cardamom powder to the same so as to get rid off the stinky smell of the cucumber and of course a pinch of salt as per your choice because I don't think sugar will work here......Anyways sounds nice:)
ReplyThanks! Let us know if you try it :)
hey Anna, I just added pinch of cardamom to give little spciy...also chopped green chilly also......good suggestions Anna.......Kate thanks for the recipe
